Did you ever stop to really think where tea comes from? Well yeah, it comes from the grocery store right?? Yes it does but most of the teas we enjoy come from far off exotic places where it is sometimes picked by hand. Except this one. The Charleston Tea Plantation is practically in our back yard. I visited this plantation recently and took a tour of the manufacturing plant and the grounds at the plantation which were loaded with healthy tea plants. 
Turns out Charleston has the perfect mix of climate, rain, humidity, soil and sun for growing tea. It didn’t happen over night though. Next time your in Charleston take an afternoon to head a little west of the water to explore these unique grounds via a trolly tour which will take you right in the middle of the plantation. You’ll get to see how they cultivate these leaves, dry them and sort them into the many flavors we enjoy today. 
The staff is very motivated & knowledgeable. 
The tea is very very good.
